Ia memelihara rumah tempat kelahiran Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, Perdana Menteri Malaysia keempat dan ketujuh. Rumah tradisional Melayu yang diperbuat daripada kayu ini menawarkan pengunjung gambaran tentang kehidupan awal beliau serta persekitaran sederhana yang membentuk tahun-tahun pembesarannya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Latar belakang sejarah<\/strong><br>Dibina sekitar tahun 1900 oleh bapa Tun Dr. Mahathir, Mohamad bin Iskandar, rumah ini merupakan struktur kayu ringkas dengan bumbung daripada daun nipah dan dibina bertiang tinggi, selari dengan seni bina tradisional Melayu. Tun Dr. Mahathir dilahirkan di sini pada 20 Disember 1925 dan menghabiskan zaman kanak-kanaknya di rumah ini sebelum berkahwin dan berpindah keluar.
